 Makna Hidup Dalam Teknik Kimia 

 

Di dalam ilmu Teknik Kimia, selain proses, kita akan menemukan satu keyword lagi, yaitu neraca (balance).
Konsep neraca ini bersumber dari Hukum Kekekalan Massa serta Hukum Kekekalan Energi. Jika jumlah materi atau energi yang masuk ke sistem = jumlah materi atau energi yang keluar dari sistem, maka sistem berada dalam kondisi balance. Artinya, akumulasi massa atau energi di dalam sistem = nol atau dapat dikatakan tidak ada massa atau energi yang tertinggal di dalam sistem. Yang menarik, secara ideal, ternyata konsep neraca ini berlaku di dalam setiap proses yang terjadi, baik pada saat reaksi maupun pada saat separasi (pemurnian) produk. Secara ideal, seharusnya tidak ada materi atau energi yang hilang dari sistem. Jika yang masuk sebanyak X, maka yang keluar juga harus sebanyak X. Secara ideal, proses tidak akan pernah melakukan ‘korupsi’.
“Keseimbangan adalah kunci kehidupan.” Barangkali, ungkapan tersebut sudah tidak asing lagi bagi kita. Hidup akan terasa semakin hidup jika ada keseimbangan di dalamnya.

Ada masa-masa bekerja keras, ada masa-masa beristirahat.

Ada saatnya memberi, ada saatnya menerima.

Ada saatnya mencintai, ada saatnya dicintai.

Ada saatnya menabur, ada saatnya menuai.

Ada musim dingin, ada musim panas.

Ada hal-hal jasmani, ada hal-hal rohani.

Semuanya seimbang.
Jika di dalam hidup ini, kita tidak memperhatikan keseimbangan, tetapi kita terlalu terobsesi atau mengejar suatu hal secara berlebihan, maka kita akan mulai menjadikan hidup sebagai suatu beban. Tidak enjoy dalam menjalani hidup. Orang bijak berkata, semua yang berlebihan itu tidak baik. Makan berlebihan, tidur berlebihan, main berlebihan, minum obat berlebihan, olahraga berlebihan, bahkan… (agak berat mengatakannya) beribadah secara berlebihan!!!

Semua bakat dan berkat yang sudah Tuhan berikan kepada kita, seharusnya tidak ada yang ‘menumpuk’ di dalam hidup kita. Semua itu seharusnya disalurkan kepada orang lain agar mendatangkan manfaat bagi hidup mereka juga.
Anugerah kekayaan dan harta berlimpah yang telah kita terima, seharusnya disalurkan kepada orang-orang yang membutuhkan. Tidak ada yang ‘terakumulasi’ atau ditimbun. Karena semuanya hanya berasal dari Yang Maha Kuasa dan seharusnya kembali kepada Dia. Demikian pula kepandaian yang telah Tuhan anugerahkan kepada kita, seharusnya dibagikan kepada orang-orang lain juga. Tidak ada kepandaian yang disimpan untuk diri sendiri.
Jika dalam proses terjadi ketidakseimbangan, misalnya energi panas yang masuk ke dalam sistem terlalu berlebihan, karena tidak ada yang dilepaskan keluar, maka akan terjadi overheating,sehingga mengganggu kelancaran proses. Bahkan, dalam beberapa kasus, peristiwa overheating bisa menggagalkan proses.
Demikian pula dalam hidup. Jika kita merasa bahwa semua kekayaan dan kepandaian yang telah kita terima adalah untuk dinikmati bagi diri sendiri, maka akibatnya adalah kesombongan dan ketamakan yang akan menggerogoti hidup kita. Bahkan jika terus-menerus dibiarkan, semua itu akan menghancurkan hidup kita. Pada akhirnya, tujuan proses tidak tercapai. Produk yang dihasilkan tidak sesuai dengan standar, kualitasnya rendah, dan tidak dapat memberikan manfaat bagi orang lain.

Turbin di PLTA

TURBIN YANG DI GUNAKAN DI PLTA


Beberapa model turbin Air yang digunakan dalam PLTA antara lain yatu  Kaplan, Pelton dan Fransis. dimana masing-masing mempunyai ciri sebagai berikut:
A. Turbin Kaplan (Propeler)
Ciri-ciri turbin Propeller menurut boyle (1996:204-205) adalah :

  1. Memerlukan debit air yang sangat besar
  2. Ketinggian muka air hanya beberapa meter
  3. Kecara teknis bentiknya lebih sederhana tapi membutuhkan perubahan kekuatan yang sangat besar untuk merubah sudut blade.
  4. Model sudut dengan blade membelit dengan bagian pusat.
  5. Prinsip kerjanya yaitu dimana sebuah turbin Kaplan berlari secara penuh dibawah permukaan air sehingga tekanan yang berbeda meleti sudu-sudu.sedangkan model rumah turbin anonym(2002)pada poros vertical memerlukan rumah turbin berbentuk spiral atau rumah keong.

Ciri-ciri turbin Pelton secara umum adalah:
  1. Roda terdiri dari mangkok-mangkok yang dipasang pada pinggir roda (kadir,1982:123).
  2. Membutuhkan debit air yang kecil tetapi memerlukan tinggi muka air yang tinggi yaitu lebih dari 200m (anonym,2002).
  3. Ttipe ini pada dasarnya beroperasi didalam atmosfer tekanan udara normal (boyle,1996:205).
  4. Pada poros mendatar memerlukan saluran tertutup dengan di beton dan diameter cukup besar dimana turbin ar berbentuk sungkup supaya air tidak menyembur keluar

C. Turbin Francis
ciri-ciri turbin Francis secara umum adalah:

  2. Untuk poros vertical dengan menggunakan rumah turbin model spiral atau rumah keong.
  3. Bentuknya lebih rumit karena memiliki berbagai jenis sudu(sdu jalan,sudu atur dan sudu tetap ).
  4. Sedangkan prinsip kerjanya enurut boyle (1996:205) adalah turbin bergerag secara penuh dibawah permukaan air sehingga ada tekanan yang berbeda ketika melewati sudu jalan.
